A short list covered deeply beats a long list covered badly. Every rule below is checked against the firm's own documentation and re-audited every week by an automated rule watch.
Same $3,000 target on a 50K account — three different answers, because the consistency rules differ.
| Account | Profit target | Consistency rule | Fastest pass |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topstep Combine 50K | $3,000 | Best day ≤ 50% of target (inclusive) | 2 days — $1,500 + $1,500 |
| LucidPro 50K | $3,000 | None in evaluation | 1 day — a single $3,000 day |
| LucidFlex 50K | $3,000 | Best day ≤ 50% of total (+ official cushion) | 2 days — $1,500 + $1,500 |
| LucidDaily 50K | $3,000 | Same 50% rule as Flex | 2 days |
| LucidDirect 50K | No evaluation | ≤ 20% of cycle profit (funded) | Funded immediately · 5 days to first payout |
Both firms' consistency rules are inclusive — a day landing exactly on the cap passes. Breaking the rule does not fail your account; it raises what you need to earn.
Two checkout options that most traders don't realise are different.
| Account | Target | Max loss limit | Daily loss limit | Max size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50K Combine | $3,000 | $2,000 (EOD trailing) | None, or $1,000 if selected | 5 minis / 50 micros |
| 100K Combine | $6,000 | $3,000 (EOD trailing) | None, or $2,000 if selected | 10 minis / 100 micros |
| 150K Combine | $9,000 | $4,500 (EOD trailing) | None, or $3,000 if selected | 15 minis / 150 micros |
Default is no DLL — only the trailing max loss can end your run. Choosing to add one earns a discount, and hitting it is a soft breach: you're locked out for the session, but your account survives.
Your best day must stay at or below 50% of the profit target. Go over and your target rises to twice your best day — you keep trading, you just need more.
Funded stage: first payout needs 5 winning days of $150+, or 3 days with your best day ≤40% of total. Profit split 90/10. Flat by 3:10 PM CT — no overnight positions.
Five products with genuinely different rules — picking the wrong one costs you days.
| Product | Eval consistency | Daily loss limit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| LucidPro | None | $1,200 at 50K (soft) | Passing fast — one good day |
| LucidFlex | ≤50% of total | None at any size | Traders who hate daily limits |
| LucidDaily | ≤50% of total | Optional at checkout | Daily payouts once funded |
| LucidDirect | No evaluation | $1,200 at 50K | Skipping the eval entirely |
| LucidMaxx | ≤40% + 5 days | None | Invite only |
Flex and Daily allow slightly more than a strict 50% — Lucid's own documentation says it exists so eager traders can pass in exactly two days.
Trading red-folder news on a funded LucidDaily account breaches it — you must be flat from one minute before to one minute after. This is the only instant-fail news rule at Lucid.
All Lucid products: drawdown trails end-of-day closes and locks at start + $100 once cleared. Flat by 4:45 PM EST. No hedging across accounts. Profit split 90/10.
Comparison sites list hundreds of firms with data that goes stale in weeks. We'd rather be right about two than vague about two hundred — and we add a firm only when we can maintain its rules to the same standard.
