Overview

This is the default Topstep Combine. There is no daily loss limit, which means no single bad session can end your evaluation — only the trailing Max Loss Limit can. That freedom cuts both ways: with no daily circuit-breaker, one uncontrolled day can walk your account straight into the trailing limit. Traders who need a hard stop should take the discounted version with a daily loss limit instead.

The rules that decide whether you pass

Consistency rule

Your best day must be no more than 50% of the profit target. On a 50K account that is $1,500. The rule is inclusive — a day landing exactly on $1,500 passes.

Fastest legal pass

Two days. On a 50K account: $1,500 + $1,500. Because the rule is inclusive, two equal days at exactly the cap is the official fastest legal pass. You cannot do it in one day at any account size.

Who this account is for

A good fit if…

  • Traders whose strategy occasionally needs room to recover within a session
  • Anyone who has failed evaluations on a daily loss limit rather than on the drawdown
  • Traders confident enough in their own risk discipline to not need an enforced stop

Look elsewhere if…

  • Traders who tilt — with no daily limit there is nothing to stop a revenge-trading session
  • Anyone who wants the cheaper entry fee or the doubled funded payout caps

Questions traders actually ask

What happens if I break the Topstep consistency rule?

Nothing fails. Your profit target rises to two times your best day. If your best day was $2,000 on a 50K account, your new target becomes $4,000 instead of $3,000. Keep trading and you still pass — it costs you time, not the account.

Can I pass the Topstep Combine in one day?

No. The consistency rule caps your best day at 50% of the target, so a single day can never reach the full target. Two days is the mathematical minimum at every account size.
