Earn2Trade Gauntlet Mini — News Trading Allowed

Published 2026-08-12 · Rules verified weekly

The Earn2Trade Gauntlet Mini takes four trading days, set entirely by a 30% consistency rule — there is no minimum trading day requirement layered on top. Two things make it worth considering anyway: it permits news trading, and it offers a 200K account.

If your edge is built around economic releases, the list of futures firms you can legitimately use is very short. This is on it.

By the end of this you will know exactly what the 30% rule costs you and whether the trade is worth it.

Earn2Trade rules: the permission most firms withhold

Earn2Trade allows trading around news events. Most futures prop firms restrict or prohibit holding through high-impact releases, and several will close a position for you or void the profit.

For a trader whose strategy is release-driven — CPI, NFP, FOMC — that restriction is not an inconvenience, it is a total block. It eliminates the majority of the market. Earn2Trade not carrying it is the single strongest reason to choose this firm, and it is worth more than a couple of extra evaluation days.

As always: confirm the current policy in your own dashboard before you build a plan on it. This is exactly the kind of rule firms revise.

The 200K account

AccountProfit targetMax loss limitDaily loss limitMax contracts
50K$3,000$2,000$1,1006
100K$6,000$3,500$2,20012
150K$9,000$4,500$3,30015
200K$11,000$6,000$4,40016

Only DayTraders offers larger, at 300K. Note the 200K target is $11,000 — 5.5%, not the 6% the smaller accounts follow. The largest account is proportionally the easiest to clear.

Note also that Earn2Trade does impose a daily loss limit at every size, unlike TradeDay, Tradeify Select or Take Profit Trader. Roughly half your total drawdown is available in any single session.

What the 30% rule costs you

Your best day must be no more than 30% of total profit — joint-tightest with TradeDay QuickPay among the evaluations we model.

So four days, and there is nothing else extending it — no minimum trading day requirement to serve out afterwards. That is a meaningful difference from Take Profit Trader, where the consistency maths says four but a five-day minimum makes it five.

Breaking the rule does not fail you. It raises the total profit required until the ratio comes back under 30%.

Worked example — 200K

Target $11,000, drawdown $6,000, daily limit $4,400, 16 minis.

Four days of $2,750 each. Every day is exactly 25% of the total, comfortably inside the 30% cap.

Sixteen ES minis move $800 per point, so $2,750 is under four points. That sounds trivial until you set it against the $4,400 daily loss limit — five and a half points against you at that size ends your day. On the largest account the contract allowance and the daily limit are close enough together that position sizing, not target-hitting, is the real skill being tested.

Frequently asked

Does Earn2Trade allow news trading?

Yes. Earn2Trade permits trading around news events, which is unusual among futures prop firms — most restrict or prohibit holding through high-impact releases. Always confirm the current policy in your own dashboard before relying on it.

How many days to pass the Earn2Trade Gauntlet Mini?

Four. The 30% consistency rule means no single day may exceed 30% of your total profit, and four roughly equal days at 25% each is the shortest arrangement that satisfies it. There is no minimum trading day requirement on top.

What is the largest Earn2Trade account?

200K, with an $11,000 profit target and a $6,000 maximum loss limit. That target is 5.5% of account size rather than the 6% the smaller accounts use, making the largest account proportionally the easiest to clear.
